  1. I’m impressed you were able to make these poor turtles look beautiful. I really dislike this temple for the way the turtles are kept; get there early if you want to watch a couple of dead turtles being dragged out each morning.

    • Thank you for your comment! I am quite shocked to read, what you have discovered! When I was in the Jade Emperor Pagoda in the early afternoon the pond for the tortoises seemed to be clean and giving enough place for the animals to swim. Also all of the tortoises I saw seemed to be healthy and well-nourished.

      • I have to admit that I went twice, two years ago and haven’t returned since. I’m so glad to hear that they are being better cared for. The times I went, the pool was very overcrowded and the larger turtles were bullying the smaller turtles. This is good news!
